Verse 1:
When I see Old Glory waving in a school yard
Where children laugh and play and learn what’s right
I remember those who fought to forge our freedom
And those who’d rather die than lose the fight
But today it seems we take it all for granted
And it’s easier to blame and criticize
But I, for one, will stand and pray
For healing in our land today
I still believe that freedom’s worth the price

Chorus:
I still believe we’re the last hope of liberty
I still believe in the promise of the land I love
And I am not ashamed to say
I pledge allegiance still today
I still believe in America

Verse 2:
When I think about the future of this nation
I wonder if the torch will still burn bright
And if each new generation will remember
And defend her honor then with all their might
For I believe that the faith of our fathers
Is the cornerstone that made our nation great
And we will stand for centuries
If we remain upon our knees
I still believe, by faith, it’s not too late

Hey Marty, part of the July 4th musical I took part in over the weekend included "Hearts To Honor You." Our worship leader said it was the song that had impacted him most in rehearsing the musical, and our choir sang it Sunday morning. Thanks for writing it with me, my friend!
Happy 4th to you!
Marty,
Great lyrics !!! I would LOVE to hear the melody to this song.
Thanks Dennis - it was recorded by Brian Free & Assurance a few years ago. Reggie & Ladye Love Smith also recorded it.
Oh, Marty. Bless your heart. GOOD job!
Great work, Marty.
We are truly privileged to have been born here. I pray we remember, as a nation, the reasons we sought independence in the first place.

Mr. Funderburk,
Where can I find the sheet music to this song? Thank you!
-Tiffany
Tiffany, I'm afraid there is no sheet music for this song. You can find a recording of the song by Brian Free & Assurance on iTunes, and you can purchase their soundtrack at www.daywind.com
Thanks for the info.
