When Bad Things Happen to Good Medleys

What part of human natures makes us stare at a car wreck? Probably the same part that keeps me riveted to this:

I watched this through hands over my eyes, peaking through fingers (when I wasn't holding my ears). I can't handle the this kind of gore. This medley has sufficiently ruined every good memory I have ever had of the little Sicilian Trattoria I worked at.

And yet, you were mysteriously drawn to watch. You gotta hand it to the guy - he never lost his game face.

I can't decide if I'm assaulted more by the performance or the fact that somehow they thought these two songs would make a good medley. There are so MANY things wrong with this whole scenario...

I love it!! Especially the unrecognizable dialect of the piano teacher. She's quite proud of her pupils, eh? (No, not the ones in her eyes)!

Oh my goodness...I just had so many flashbacks to some open-mic singings we've had the "pleasure" of singing at! Thanks for a great start to my Friday - I've now laughed/cried off my mascara!

so...this just goes to show you how tightly melody and hook should be woven together so that it's memorable....right? :) i found myself holding my head on the sides of my face--almost like i was willing myself not to turn away out of some kind of respect for the guy...although it kind of reminds me how i used to make myself watch Real Life in the ER. i thought it would be good for me somehow. you are very funny, marty.

So many things wrong . . . I can't even go there. The one thing I did find intriguing (the only time I watched) was the man's slight eyebrow dance. His attempt at expression? My questions to you is: how much time did it take you to find this on Youtube? And why were you looking for it?

Melissa - I actually saw a video copy of it many years ago before there was a YouTube. I had forgotten about it till someone forwarded it to me the other day. There's another one I'll post soon....stay tuned.

Somebody help me. I'm laughing so hard I may hurt myself. Now... here's a survey I'm doing:

This medley would best be sung...

A. At church on Easter Sunday morning
B. At a Dean Martin Fan Club reunion

On the positive side he has a nice tone on some of the notes he managed to hold out. His intonation wasn't bad. If he could just increase his brain to mouth coordination. I also think the accompanist was rushing him.
